| Blue Hole & Chimney
Rated among the best 10 dives in |
![]() |
The site is situated
underneath the prime attraction in Gozo, namely the “Azzure Window” in
Dwejra.
Besides the “Blue Hole” other very popular dive spots are situated at this site. |
| The deep blue waters here provide the
right marine environment for many types of fish and other marine life.
This will be one of the occasions where we will be able to see big fish in
The “Blue Hole” is really a cave without a roof, but the underwater surroundings and light fall are beautiful. Although the site reaches a maximum depth of around 60 meter, we have the best opportunity to discover fish life between 10 - 30 meter, so any type of diver will have a super time. |

On our way back, we can visit a big cave, right underneath “The Hole”, but this depends on our remaining air and dive qualifications. |
|
Just behind the church in Dwejra, we will find a small natural pond of around 60 meters diameter. The entrance area is shallow but once we reach the natural tunnel (which leads to the sea) we will have the opportunity the descent further. |
|
|
The first thing you will notice is the beautiful light fall and dramatically
shaped walls. The tunnel will have a maximum depth of around 22 meter and offers
ample opportunities for pretty pictures!
Once outside the tunnel, we have the choice to discover the outside walls and descent further if necessary to see schools of barracuda and amberjacks etc. pass by. We will return again through the tunnel and ascend in the pond. As the area is subject to heavy boat traffic in the summer, we will surface just outside the tunnel and swim the final meters at the surface. |

Just outside the salt pans in Marsalforn, we find a spectacular site for experienced divers. |
|
Imagine a t-shaped reef at 20 meter with steep drop offs on either site till 40 meter! On rounding the corner we will see 2 natural arches above each other. After a zigzag through the arches, we will slowly start our ascend till the top of the reef. The site is home to many fish species. Here you will see big barracuda, dentex, amberjack etc, really close! As we come to the top of the wall, hold your cameras ready because they might not but further away as 2 meter! The site is possible to visit from land but I prefer to approach the site by boat in order to spend more time on the reef. |

| Double Arch reef will certainly be one of the best dives of your holiday and one to remember! | |
| Fessej Rock | |

A lonely rock, just outside Mgarr ic Cini, offers a beautiful naturalist boat dive. The anchor place is a rock formation at around 10 meter but once we start our dive, we can descent along the steep wall. Here you will have the opportunity to make really deep dives, should you wish to as the site reaches well over 50 meter! Once we round the rock and slowly ascend, we can play around some big boulders. Finally we will reach the anchor place again. The plateau offers a comfortable place for your safety stop but first we will use our remaining air to discover this area. Big groupers will slowly pass us by, curious amberjack come and take a close look. In addition, octopus are frequently found here hiding in cracks and little holes. Due to its location, the site is less frequently visited by other dive centers. Therefore it is one of our favorites! Really a site not to be missed! |
