This side marks the most southern part of the island Comino. Huge boulders lay at the bottom of a steep drop off, creating a unique swimming experience at 22 meter. We can either just fall off the reef or gain access through a L-shaped tunnel of approximately 15 meter. The cave starts at 9 meter and the exit is around 16 meter. |

After the boulders we can descent further (if desired) till over 40 meters or continue our way along a steep drop off. For those who are “good on air”, we could even go around the corner and find some more boulders with swim through situations. The 90° wall will also serve for our return, however at shallower depth and either return through the cave or over the reef. Our safety stop will happen, while looking for octopus and other nice species. What else you want? On of Malta’s Top Dives and highly recommended for any diver! |

The dive site is so nice that you sometimes wonder, shall I dive or just relax in the sun? But the thought of a 30 meter long “open” tunnel, a beautiful natural arch, octopus, flying gunners and many other fish varieties will make you want to see this spot! As the dive is not deep, we can look forward to a long & relaxed dive. The tunnel offers the possibility for good camera shots as the light fall is nice and the water here is normally very clear. The clear sand in the bay will make the perfect underground to see colorful fish! Due to the fact that the tunnel is open on the top, this is even a safe dive for divers who wish to experience diving in a “confined” environment. |
After a short swim we will reach Alex Rock at around 14 meter. Due to the fact that the cave is formed in an L-shape, we recommend this dive only for more experienced cave divers as we can not always see the end and the outside lights.
Finally we will navigate towards Mushroom Rock, and use our remaining air to look for fish life near the anchor spot.

The Southern End of Cominotto marks
the end of a split-level reef. The first part offers a nicely vegetated bottom
with colorful rock formations, At a depth of 13 meter, we will reach a steep drop off where we can descent to 35 meter. The rough wall offers a great hiding place for conger eel, moray eel, langoustine & octopus. Even don’t forget to watch the open water as often you see schools of barracuda and other predetorial fish. Rock formations along the wall will often shelter big groupers, but we will only see them shortly as they will escape through the many small cracks and holes. They didn’t get old for no reason, did they? Depending on our air reserves, we might even be able to visit a small cave and finally turn back towards the boat. We will follow the top part of the reef wall till we reach a shallow rock formation where we will do our safety stop.

On the North side of Comino, we find
the famous
| St.
This tourist attraction point is so popular that they were even used for the film “The Count of Monte Cristo”. However the site is not as nice as it’s underwater world! Imagine a dive side that reaches maximum 18 meters and offers 1 hour of changing scenery. Big (open) tunnels with beautiful clear waters offer various ways for discovering. |

| Outside the caves we find big boulders
harboring octopus and sometimes a rare langoustine! Even big conger eel are
frequently spotted here.
The tunnels are all wide and relaxing and can be reached within the same dive. We have even time to swim through the natural arch and feed hundreds of fish by hand! As this site is very often visited by other dive centers, good planning of the day is required in order to get the maximum out of this dive. But your early day to Comino will pay off, I promise you. Definitely a super dive for both beginner and experienced divers! |

The
Sometimes we might encounter some current but we can use this to our advantage! As a result we will be able to discover a big area during our dive.
The rocks give shelter to various types of fish. The small swim through situations (as large boulders are laying partly on top of each other) and caves provide a safe place for big groupers, octopus etc. But we can also roam around the outside the rock, just depending on your preference!
At a depth of 6 meter we can even enter a cave of 30 length but due to its shape, this dive is only available to properly trained experienced divers. However should you be interested to learn more about diving in overhead situations, please contact us for your possibilities.
